Innovative spine care meets Springfield.

I was full of emotion as I drove down Main Street on my way to meet Josh at Springfield Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Institute. Ohio Valley Surgical hospital is centered in an industrial part of town. Old buildings now house chic coffee shops and French sandwich bistros. As I drove up to Ohio Valley surgical hospital a sign read “Voted top best places to work in Dayton”. I did not expect to find such an advanced surgical hospital nestled away in this small Ohio town.

Josh and I could hardly contain our excitement with what we envisioned for Springfield and its community. Countless emails and phone calls laid out plans for bringing innovative spine care to Springfield Ohio. It was still a year and half before I would start practice in Springfield but we knew was plenty of work to be done in preparation beforehand.

As I started my fellowship at Texas Back Institute, every day was filled with excitement. I constantly think of what I could adopt in my practice and bring to Springfield and the surrounding areas. Disc replacement has not yet been performed at Ohio Valley. I’m being trained at the Center for Disc Replacement at Texas Back Institute. It only made sense to me, once I married these two thoughts, that I need to share this innovative technology with Springfield.

Many patients travel to metropolitan areas in search of advanced spine care. Having grown up in a small town, my goal is to provide Springfield with a reputation of having innovative spine care at home.
